Dear Daughter,

This week has been crazy for me. You see, your birthday is on Saturday, so in addition to all the Christmas preparations I’m working on, I’m preparing for your birthday. You were supposed to be born in January, but you came unexpectedly two weeks early. Now, each year I prepare a special day for you. There are presents to be wrapped, a special cake to be baked and decorated, soups to be made, houses to be cleaned. I’ll admit it, I’m stressed, but you know what? You’re worth it. I wouldn’t trade the joy I know will burst from your little body when you see your cake. I wouldn’t trade the joy you are to me.

So long ago, God sent his son into the world. Our world wasn’t ready for him. And even though they didn’t realize it, God gave our world the very best gift. He did it because he believes we are worth it.

So no matter how crazy this season is, know that God thinks you’re worth it and so do I.
